| It can be said that this all started because of a Fisher-Price "Snappy Shots" toy camera that my parents gave me for my fourth christmas. A great deal of my formitive years were spent inside The Kimball and Amon Carter Museums in Fort Worth, Texas., where, at age 8, I attended the opening of "In the American West" by Richard Avedon (which profoundly changed the way I see the world). At age 12, I started shooting with my father's Pentax and I never plan to stop. From 1994-2004, I worked as a free-lance photojournalist covering Texas and the surrounding states for various newspapers, magazines, and wire services. From 2004,-2011, I was blessed to be able to assist and learn lighting for commercial, advertising, and fashion from some of the best photographers in the world. On equipment: cameras: Canon DSLRs and L-series primes, Canonet rangefinder, Yashica D TLR, and a custom polaroid named "Frank." lighting: Profoto, Broncolor, and White Lightning strobe systems, along with a variety of tungsten, HMI, and fluorescent sources. |
